Route day 1

Now it was the day to take off, the weather was fine, everything was put on the motorbike. I was escorted by my 'Microbear', whom you'll see here at the steering nearby the action-cam and who had to endure all the weather! All videos taken with the action-cam are made in HD. So you should change the options while playing the videos to 1080p. My pictures kann be shown bigger with a right click at your mouse. Later on when I know how to fix this should work automatically!Microbear

Northcape start

Riding the first 50km I couldn't realize that I'm really on the way to the North Cape. When I have let Cologne far behind me I have got the feeling, yes its real!

The speed to go was about 100km/h (about 65mph) and 120km/h (about 75mph). Driving faster would mean a heavy wind load on my helmet because I only had a small wind shield. Also the noises stood tolerably.

I did'nt see so much at first; this was the motorway and I had to drive on and on. But when I was near Hamburg a thunderstorm broke out down on me. Who likes to see it can look at my first video which I have cut to 5 minutes driving through the rain. It might be a bit interesting when you look at minute 4:00. At this point the weather was going to be better when I crossed the Fehmarnsund-bridge. By the way you only hear the engine sounds so you better set down the volume first.

After about 650km (400 miles) I reached a camping place on the island Fehmarn. The lady at the arrival desk told me smuggy she wouldn't suggest me to built up a tent. Yes, I also found it amusing and laughed. So I decided to stay at the hotel near the ferry harbour Puttgarden. Therefore my budget for the first night was widely overdrawn.

At the very least all my clothes has stood dry. Also the things packed in the saddle bags were for the most parts dry. While packing I have put them into water proofed bags. Good luck.

The next day I checked in to take the ferry and simultaneously I booked the ticket to use the Öresund-bridge from Danmark to Sweden. So I wouldn't have to stop again later.
