Route day 16

Tenting behind Mo I Rana

I had a quiet night and the new day greeted me with beautiful weather, a glassy fjord and mild temperatures.

So I put all my things together and started on the E6 to Laksforsen. There is a rapids at the well known salmon river Fefsna which comes down from the mountains. Okay a river, I thought - but the nature around and the landscapes in Norway took me by surprise several times - and like that I was today again.

The rapids made a nice variety. Unfortunetaly I have missed the point I wanted to change the rivers side to take another small street. Later when I've got me  some food I drove the small street to the river from where I first wanted to come from back to the E6. The road should have lead over the narrow hanging bridge.

In the video from minute 2:40 I took the unsurfaced was to this bridge to make a quit lunch break.

By going on the tour the terrain rose up again whilst along the river and several great lakes.

Upwards there were few calmer zones alternating with more rapids. The street lead further up the mountains. What I did not expected was to come to the cold snow areas again.

Also on this was I was amazed about the wide countryside with really large lakes, waterfalls and steep rugged mountainsides. Over all the sky throned above which also captivated me heavily. Finally I came to the height of the pass and on the other side the grounds fell down slowly. Also on this mountainsides springs up a river, the Namsos. Going over the pass I left the province of Nordland (northland).

The south direction of the mountains and hills give reasons for more solar radiation. I felt it immediately because it was warmer and the vegetation was further than in the northern parts. Most of the landscape now is dominated by farmland. Furhter downwards the river meanders lovely through the land.

On the riverside there is a good furnished camping place where I spent the night.
