Northtour - Norway (11)

Route day 17

Now I saw my last planned highlight before my eyes. This day I wanted to reach the beginning of the famous atlantic road which starts behind Kristiansund if you see it from the north. It was worth to take the E6 zu fahren. There was good to driving and so to catch lots of kilometers. Nice scapes were seen beside the street. Until Steinkjer I drove along the fjord, after that there started the region of fjords again.

Meanwhile the thought occurred to me to look after the engine oil. Up to this point the engine didn't need (!) a drop of oil. Now I wondered why the oil level was as low. A deeper look to the engine showed me a loose sealing ring at the clutch lever. It was nearby to go fully out of its place and so oil could get out. I put it back again and checked it repeatingly; it was no more really tight at this point. When I came home that was a part to renew. I didn't find another loss of oil. So I could go on without problems.

From Steinkjer I drove over Trondheim to the E39 and then on the 682 nearby Hendset (Hennset) to take the ferry to the next islands.

Here also were very interesting rocks which rose from the flat coast ground. I had to hurry up to get the ferry from Tömmersväg to Seivika.

Another ferry passage was necessary to get to Kristiansund. In Kristiansund I took the Atlanterhavstunnelen, the only tunnel where also motorbikes have to pay a maut. All other maut roads are free for bikers.

Again I had made a long trip and it was evening. But I wanted to get to the beginning of the Atlantic Road this day. The region was a bit different and I liked it too. But I wanted to sleep in a bed and not building up a tent. I have gladly had good luck to find a very noble holiday cottage settlement and yes they had a room, more a house, free for just one night. That was a a big sip from the bottle but ok, it was great and sometimes it's worth that.

The sun going down this evening enticed for another beautiful day ahead and especially for an interesting road.

Here you might see the cottage from inside. It is placed very comfortable at the jetty and should be a well asked area for deep sea fishing.

Mikrobär weiterhin dabeiYeah the microbear was allways with me and overcame all the difficulties :-)
