Northtour - Finland (6)

That was a nice stop at Juho who meanwhile made a visit in Germany at my home - naturally with his motorbike. Before I went off Juho took me to 'his' salmon river where a popular location for meetings and partys is. The picture was made near Jyväskylä.

After the detour he led me to the street to Oulu. The farewell seemed to me like leaving the last civilized post. What a load of bullshit. There are some big cities on my further way. But such things have been working in my head. And they intend to make this tour very interesting too.

Then the trip on the straight road began, mile by mile, hour by hour, always at the same speed. And it was warm, unusually for this climate zone and this season of the year. 27°C (81F). Did you ever drive during this high temperatures and blue skies lasting for hours and nearly always straight ahead? On the motorbike of course. Like many others Juho warned me of immediately crossing reindeers or elks. First of all I didn't recognize them. But there is another danger which is not to underrate: the topic of microsleep will reach everyone who is making a tour like this. I had good luck because for me it adumbrates with an odd feeling of inertness.

That always was a sign for me to take the very next stop to make a break. Relaxing, drinking, slight movements; you here it everywhere and it is a good tip always on long tours. Another thing: my sitting position was always relaxed. If I couldn't sit on my motorbike for hours without getting back pains or other pains I could forget a tour like this.

A good thing was to pack the luggage so I could sit before an lean on from time to time.

You will also drive a long tour and ask how you might be able to withstand that? Well I sayed to myself if I can sit in the bureau for hours it'll be possible on the motorbike too. Only one thing to this: you may not force yourself to do. That also means if you have enough then stop immediately.

This was a long drive this day but it shouldn't be final early this afternoon. A share had the northern posiiton where the darkness came very late.
