Route day 14

This morning I first took the ferry from Breivol to Harstad. Than I turned to the 83 and after that to the E10 in direction Loedingen.

Shortly after this video endet I caught a nail - yes it met the rear wheel and this began to try to shove the motorbike to the side. I didn't realize at first why the motorcycle was behaveing as strange. I took the gas down put the front break very carefully and after about 100m (109 yards) I stood. That was a very wobbly matter with much luck on a straight part of the street. Naturally I stood behind a hilltop, that was not good too. To get off the bike wasn't easy because the side stand couldn't be swang out. The motorbike stood on his wheel rim. With a jump I got it.

So the next thing was to get away from the tophill. Shoving with engine help was possible. To get the machine on the stand was not possible with luggage packed on too. So I had to hold it with one hand, take the luggage off with the other hand and throw it in the trench. Meanwhile there were some big lorries passing me. Then it was possible to jack it up.

Thank of my warning triangle the first I did was protecting the accident site and sure put on the high-visibility vest. You'll come to appreciate this vest when the traffic is real slower and passes with distance. By the way many of the drivers, Norwayen and foreigners, has stopped and offered their help. One thing is shure: you won't stay here and get lost.

So a nail crossed my way, what a shit thing. It stucked in the middle of the tread. I had all the tools with me but pushing the tyre of the wheel rim directly at the street and with unsteady weather in the background? I didn't want to do and an automobil club where I'm member sent me a breakdown lorry.

They said I had to wait about 2 hours of time. Finally the breakdown lorry took me to Loedingen at a gas station with car workshop. I had to pay 2250 NOK. I thought that'd okay but when I came home I saw that I had to pay the part of the price which is more than the refund of the club insurance. That I found was a real exorbitant amount of money. But what can you do in a situation like this?

The workshop master said it'd be no problem to get the tyre off an on the rim again. But dismounting and mounting again he couldn't do on motorbikes, only on lorries and passenger cars. It's always good to know how to do this. So I did it myself. The work for making the tyre off and on again only costed 300 NOK. And I could go on.

I was a carefully while driving the first kilometers because the casing of the tyre might have been damaged. But there were no bulgs to be seen.

Again I was able to enjoy this way with more beautifull landscapes. They were interrupted from long tunnels oder bridges to the next islands.

This road was another big highlight on my journey and you really should take this way. With good weather it's great to be seen and sure with stormy weather it'll be great too.

The E10 at Kaekersundet. Like I wrote it was going more impressive.

The top of the day was the way through Reine. Reine lies so beautiful between the mountain peaks on several small islands. Now I let the pictures speak.
