Northtour - Finland (5)
Back to the main land I had to take a long way because I wanted to see Helsinki. All the way to the Capital it could be seen that Finland is a very flat country. Therefore there are lots of lakes everywhere.
Arriving in Helsinki I had the problem that temperatures rose up again. On an information board was told over 28°C (82F) of heat. I've been sweating in my motorbike clothes. Additionally there were construction sites all over the inner city so I had the impression of a concret desert. This won't be right or only in parts but the heat, the traffic and so on casted me out of Helsinki.
The tour went on to the north. My next intermediate destination was Juho, the finish friend of a neighbour of my home street. With my neighbour I talked about my tour and he established contact. So I could visit Juho and Mari. Juho gave me a tip to depart from my planned route just to see a nature reserve with great lakes. It has taken over 2 hours more time but it really was worth it.
Juho and Mari gave me a warm welcome and they were very hospitably. I was allowed to stay overnight in their garden house. Because I knew about Juho's interest to German beer I have brought a six-pack with me. It has made it through the journey and I was happy to get more place in my luggage.
After the delicious dinner (thank you Mari) I learned about a real Finisch sauna visit. It must have been long after midnight when I fell into bed. Gladly again, Juho! And thank you both :-)
